The last week of the first session went by quickly with various projects, papers and final exams. I believe I finished on a high note, but you never know.
We had a large group out on Friday night celebrating the graduation of those who started the first summer. One of the graduates is a dear friend of mine from last year. In addition to coming to Mexico to present her action research project, she just got married last weekend! So, everyone was excited to meet her husband. Other students have been arriving this weekend so attend the second session, so although I'll miss colleagues that have left already (Heather, Emily and Peter) others will arrive that I'm looking forward to seeing again (Erin & Modesta).
A group of us took a day trip to Leon (a large city nearby). We took the tour of the city on an open-air bus and had an amazing Mexican meal at a local restaurante. The woman of the house made fresh salsa right infront of us! Leon is known for its leather products, so I (of course) bought a couple things!!!!
We will start our second session tomorrow. I will be taking my Action Research class to write my proposal that I will be implementing this coming school year. The other class I chose to take is very grammar-based. I had the professor last year and believe it will help me refine my skills in the classroom, not to mention my own daily use of the language. I'm also looking forward to my Advanced Conversation class and pray that I have the same professor I had last summer.
I miss my boys (Gili & Calvin) very much, but we're on the downslope and I know that I'll be home with them before I know it. Hope all is well and that you are finding ways to beat the summer heat!
Love always,
Sarah

Hi my dear friend,
I am just checking in on you to see how everything is going. I can't believe you are almost done. You must be very busy b/c you haven't left many posts. Of course not too many have left responses either:( I will try to check in more often. I love you, dear friend. Have you been able to get your regular e-mails? Would a weekend in Utah be out of the question in Sept? Thinking and praying for a quick and easy last few days/week.
Kitty
